Frequently Asked Questions

1.  What do I need to bring with me for a float / paddle event or rentals?

We provide you with the tube, life vest and paddle for float events.  We provide you with the kayak / paddleboard, life vest and paddle for those events or self-guided rentals.  You will want to bring sunscreen, hat, water shoes, towel, change of clothes, snacks & drinks.  We encourage you to be mindful of the trash you generate from snacks and drinks and make sure to carry out what you bring in.

2. Can I schedule a private event for my family and/or friends?

Yes. We love when people want to create their own group in a time line that works for them.  We have the capability for private groups up to 12 people on a tube float and up to 4 people on kayak or 6 people on paddleboards.  We are also happy to do any combination of these.  Private events can be schedule with or without a guide, as well as with or without transportation depending on the locations you choose.

3. How long are the trips?

This really depends on the event and routes you are taking.  Generally, our tube floats last 3-4 hours one one of two routes.  Self-guided kayak or paddleboard tours can be anywhere from 2-7 hours depending on the routes choosen.  We have options that allow for start and finish at our headquarters, as well as start above and end at our headquarters or start at our headquarters and end downriver in various locations.  We work closely with you to help you choose what is right for you and the members in your party.

4.  What happens if it rains on the day of the event or my self-guided rental?

Please see our Weather Policy and our Refund policy.

5.  Do you provide transportation?

Transportation is an add on service that we provide depending on the routes you choose and the timeline.  We do transportation several different ways.  We work all that out with you on the day or your excursion.  Generally, we have a base rate of $25 for transportation cost.

6.  Can we use our own equipment?

In some cases, the answer to this is yes. Some events we allow for your own kayaks or paddleboards to be used. Also, for self guided tours, you can use your own equipment and just hire us for transportation and route recommendations, or to come along as your guide if you don't want to explore alone.

7. Do you accept walk-ins for daily rentals?

Right now, we require reservations be made for our daily rentals. Because we are a small family run outfitter, we do not have round the clock staff.  We meet you at our headquarters for events and self-guided exploration.

8.  Is there an age restriction to who can do tube floats or equipment rentals?

It depends. Some events are adult only events, so you must be 18+ to join. Minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult responsible for their safety and well being for all events and rentals. We find for maximizing fun, most families are bringing kids 5+, but we leave that up to the family knowing they are ultimately responsible for the safety and wellbeing of younger children.

9.  Do we have to go with a guide on the water?

Not always. Our events are guided experiences. There will be a guide with you in the water for the entirety of the trip, though we give you plenty of space to have your own experience. We are mostly just there to point out hazards or cool things you might want to check out, and make sure everyone is acting responsibly. If you do equipment rental for a self-guided experience, the guides will provide transportation, orientation to the area with route recommendations and help you get on the water if you need.  We will not be on the water with your, nor will we check up on you. We get you started and then only see you again when you arrive back at our headquarters or require transportation back to our headquarters.  You might run into us while you are out, but rest assured it is because we are playing or experimenting with equipment, media, etc.
